Joel Osteen, mega church pastor, author, and motivational speaker announced today,” As Christians, we are taught to trust in Jesus, and this is typically my message and what I hold to be true. But that is for me personally. I know this truth is contradictory to the beliefs of many out there today and are afraid of what is going on. More so, with Christians preaching and telling others to “trust Jesus”, it just reinforces to others that Christians are willfully blind and willfully going against science and their leaders. So even though I typically encourage Christians to find a trust in Jesus, this type of thinking is really damaging Christian reputation and is showing to be a root cause for increased cases and death. So I urge Christians in times like this, please trust the science and your government. Practice trusting Jesus with small things, like your attitude, and in the safety of your own home. It is just arrogance to trust Jesus and not your government in a time like this.”

In a compassionate tribute to small businesses across the democratic states in America, big companies such as Walmart, Costco, Kroger Stores, Home Depot, and Lowe’s have all signed what is called “the Declaration of Compassion and Gratitude”. Though short in words, you can be sure it really resonates well with the small businesses as it reads:
We, the writers of this declaration, express our deepest regrets to the small shops that are considered non-essential. You have been the backbone of our society up until now.  We only hope we can carry on the diligence and dignity you all have shown prior to this pandemic. It is a heavy burden that is bared upon us who are left. None the less, we will show the perseverance you showed everyday to continue on in your absence.

The president of Walmart stood up and announced Walmart will commit to providing all small shop employees or owners as preferred hires for at least 50% of any new entry level job openings. They will also provide a $200 signing bonus to any preferred hires. 
During a time of such turmoil, these owners show that we all are in this together.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many have heard the words “Good Science” and “Trust the science.” These have become household phrases and are used just as much, if not more, as “Good morning” and “Thank you.”

A recent research study conducted by UCLA was aimed to find out what these phrases mean to Millenials and GenZ. By reaching out to the organization BLM and to public schools, as well as searching parent’s basements, they were able to gather more than 60,000 responses.

The study only asked a handful of questions, and while some were multiple choice, the question about gender identity showed the most variation in answers for the fill-in questions. 

Of all the multiple choice questions, the one that received 85% of the community agreeing was the question “What is ‘Good’ science?” The choices were: Richard Dawkins, Scientific Method, Elmo, and Bill Gates. Of those 4, Bill Gates received 85% of the picks while Richard Dawkins received only 2%, and the only one that did not receive any was Scientific Method. 

When asked what a “Hypothesis” was, 78% of people said it was an animal at the zoo. 

When asked what doctor they would trust more, their primary doctor or Dr. Fauci, 74% said they would trust Dr. Fauci more. 

As the scientists were pressed about the findings of this study, Dr. Johnson gave the only answer. “We believe this to show how science has changed and has become more culturally relevant. We are excited for what this means moving forward and how the youth of our day can take charge in redefining science.”

As President Trump continues to rack up the Noble Peace Prize nominations for his work in the middle east, more groups are coming out to endorse their candidates in opposition to Trump. Some have claimed Trump to be a facsist and comparing him to Hitler, but one group has set themselves apart in the debate.

“We believe strongly in Biblical values,” Kathy Jones said, the president and co-founder of Pro-Isreal Evangelicals for Hitler. “We know Hitler is not alive. However, if Trump had come before Hitler, we strongly believe people would be rejoicing that at least Hitler wasn’t Trump!!”

When asked about the millions of lives that were lost at the hand of Adolf Hitler, Kathy was quick to answer.

“Obviously, we are very sad about the lives that were lost,” Kathy somberly admitted. “However, you miss what Hitler did for the Jews if you just focus on that fact. You have to take everything into account.” 

When asked what those things were, Kathy explained. “Hitler gave every Jew a roof over their head, so there was no homeless Jew. Hitler gave every Jew a job, so their unemployment was virtually at 0%. He brought them all together, and unity is something Trump has never been able to do. When you look at Hitler’s policies, they were very pro-Israel and we found them to be closer to what Jesus taught and what the Bible teaches. Of course, we do not agree with the genocidal actions, but the policies were very good.” 

When pressed about who she would vote for in an election between Hitler and Trump, Kathy made no hesitation “Hitler, and it isn’t even close!!”

Trump is in deep water after troubling events occured at Friday’s White House press conference. 

A CNN reporter was attempting to ask a question, and after needing to clear his throat several times, the President called out “Can somebody get him a drink of water!!” Confused and unable to speak, the reporter got up immediately and left the room, presumably because he was so offended by the offer. 

Immediately after the press conference, the President was asked about offering the man water. “I drink water, I really do,” The President said. “I drink it everyday and it is a really, really good thing. Everyone should be drinking water.”

Experts were quick to correct the president. A Hydrologist from the University of Miami pointed out that water is, in fact, very dangerous. Drowning causes 320,000 deaths worldwide each year, which alone makes water extremely dangerous. 

“To make a blanket statement like he did can be very misleading,“ the hydrologist said. “Water from the Ocean, streams, rivers, and any non-potable water can be very dangerous to one's health.”

Nancy Pelosi came out in support for a full investigation. “This president,” she started, “has been very careless, and this is just another disgusting example of his reckless and near criminal ideologies. He completely ignores good, sound science, and that should make us all concerned.”

Joe Biden weighed in on the conversation. “The amount of people who have drowned and have been killed by water is sickening and absolutely unacceptable. We cannot afford any more deaths at the hands of the Trump administration. If Trump offered me water, I would be frightened to drink any water at all.” Biden was visibly shaken by the thought. He added “As your President, the Harris-Biden administration will fight endlessly to protect you from water by any means necessary.” 

Protesters took to the streets Friday, displaying their concerns of the President and his comments. Some held signs that said “Let us breathe,” while other signs said “Refuse the Kool-Aid, don’t drink the water!!” Many people went to twitter to show their support to not drink any water until a cure is found. Democrats have already begun to write a bill that will make sure any water citizens will drink is safe from contamination and “Drown-free”. 

City officials from Flint, Michigan have come out with their disgust towards the President. They feel very hurt and frightened and feel that the science needs to be followed. 

Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, has led the charge with other governors to ban the use of water in public places. He has shutdown water fountains, called for closure of all parks on any body of water, and has even gone as far to drain every public pool in California. Newsom has also made it clear that churches are no longer able to carry out baptisms, a practice of completely submerging converts into water. 

Pastor John McArthur of Grace Community Church in California continues to defy government officials. He has already stated that his church will continue to baptize people, even though it is clear he is putting lives in serious danger. 

However, other pastors have come out in support of the governor.

“We will suspend all of our baptisms until a much safer method is found,” one pastor said. Others agreed and another pastor said “Baptism is not meant to represent death, its just something we do. We just want to positively influence the world.” 

However, right wing radicals have since come up with their own movement in defiance of the governors. They have tagged their movement as “H2Hoax” and have placed themselves in public places… drinking water. 

“These individuals must stop!!” Governor of Washington Jay Inslee said. “Their display is dangerous and they need to go home and put the water down. They need to follow the science.” 

As tensions continue to rise, Trump continues to place himself as a person who ignores all science and safety protocols. One can only wonder; if he is reelected, will we even make it to 2021??
